Website Ideas
Before you start making your site the most important thing is that you know what you are going to do base it on. Don't just go making a site for the hell of it, because trust me there really is no point!
What do you choose to do your site on? Well firstly you have to do something that you are passionate about and have a lot of knowledge on. Remember you will be writing articles/news constantly and if you don't enjoy what you are writing about then you will soon get bored and disregard your site. If you don't have the knowledge then it is very likely that there will be a similar site better than yours.
Look at your market. Who is your site appealing to? Make sure that when making the site you consider how you make it and how it will attract the customers that you would expect to visit it. Consider your opposition? Will your site be competing against many other similar sites? If so you have to make sure that your site offers something different to others. Ideally you should make a site that is original and does not have much competition so you are free to express what you want. However make sure you are passionate about the subject! (see above)
Make sure you have the time to make the site you are considering making. If you are going to make a site that needs constant updating then you will need to give a lot of time and devotion towards it. Make sure yo don't slack! However if you have little time it would be best for you to make a site that does NOT need updating (frequent updating)

Sport - giving latest sport news on a club you support of sport you have passion for.
A normal blog - giving your views on day to day occurrences, you could do a personal blog or a blog about just about anything you like, using Wordpress or Blogspot.
Controversial views - Give controversial views on different topics, often a site to create lots of debate, this could attract more people as people like to have their views shown.
Shop - Create an online shop to sell goods of your choice.
Compare website - A site to compare different goods whether you are comparing quality or price or maybe even both. For example you could compare housing products, etc.
